대수적위상수학algebraic_topology 에서, Jordan_curve_theorem { https://mathworld.wolfram.com/JordanCurveTheorem.html } 에 의하면
$\mathbb{R}^2$ 에 있는 단일폐곡선,simple_closed_curve ( Srch:Jordan_curve ) $J$ 에 대해, $\mathbb{R}^2-J$ 는 두 components(inside and outside)으로 나누어진다. (이분,bipartition)
이 때 $J$ 는 각각의 경계,boundary이다.
